New National Weather Service forecasts for the Spring 2011 Red River flood outlook have gotten worse. The Red River in Fargo has a 20% chance of reaching 41.2 feet this spring according to reports by the Fargo Forum. The last report put the 20% prediction at 40.7 feet. Maybe I am crazy, but [...]  News reports are coming in left and right indicating that Fargo is preparing for “the annual flood fight.” Tomorrow, we will get some important Fargo flood predictions about our “annual flood fight” and hopefully it is good news. It is not that hard to find articles that discuss our “yearly” flood. I have [...] New National Weather Service predications are expected this Thursday and it will be interesting to hear the new outlook for the Red River Valley. Several articles have indicated that the warm up this week will not impact the outlook for Spring flooding, but I think there are a few different items that could [...] The crest has pretty much been reached. Sure, there is .04 feet to go, but I would qualify this as cresting. Now, we all just hope that it holds where the water hits the bags. almost [...] This flood is getting better and better… if you can say that. The NWS has lowered the crest to 37 feet and we are almost there. It is expected to stay through there through Monday and then drop. Hopefully, the weather will continue to cooperate with us. Stay safe Red River Valley [...] I have not been posting often because the news has been slow… well, here is some good news! The prediction has been lowered to 37.5 to be reached on Sunday! Stay safe Red River Valley. The new NWS service update predicts relatively positive news, but has not changed much. It sounds like they are predicting 38 feet as the crest. [...] NEW NWS forecast predicts we will be at 38 feet by Friday. These consistent changes certainly reinforce my theory that nobody really knows what is going to happen. [...] Now, it appears that the prediction is for over 32 feet on Friday and up to 33.4 feet next Saturday and it appears that it will continue to rise. [...] I really hope that this new rainfall is somehow good in the long run in regards to Fargo area flooding, but for now… it is keeping me on edge and I wonder if the crest is coming sooner rather than later?
