Red River is starting to run – FM Area Flood 2010 is getting closer [...] I just wanted to write down some reasons why I love the Fargo Moorhead area. I could really go far beyond 51, but that is the number I decided to stick with. Here is my list of 51 reasons [...] Oh Fargo flood, Fargo flood, Fargo flood – when will you crest? [...] I think we are going to get the help we need, but I read an article today where a top US Army Corps of Engineer official indicated that the Corps will likely be needed in more states this spring. Also, what is the situation with the National Guard? [...] I think we have more on the flood this year and a 40.82 crest will mean something slightly different this year than it did last year. Cautious optimism – plan for the worst and hope for the best. [...] The ease with which we may be able to put up a neighborhood saving dike this year will be at the expense of someone’s home. [...] I really do want to know when the Red River will crest at height X on date Y, but I am going to try and not get very wrapped up in the precision that I hung on to last year. Red River over 33 feet in Fargo
The National Weather Service is reporting the Red River is currently at 33.16 feet. The crest is still at 38 feet and expected to be here on Sunday. The mood is optimistic and now we have to wait and watch.
