The National Weather Service has issued revised a 2011 Spring Flooding Outlook for the Red River Valley and the entire region. The outlook does not bode very well for the Fargo Moorhead area and surrounding North Dakota communities. First, the outlook points out that we have already outpaced the average season TOTAL snowfall [...] YAY! Go Red River Valley. [...] Just one example of the young people in the Fargo Moorhead area and the impact they are having on the flood of 2010. [...] It looks like the NWS has slightly changed its flood prediction for the Fargo flood crest to fall on Sunday rather than Saturday. Hopefully, this should provide a bit more time to get all of the necessary dikes in place to protect against the Red River Valley flood of 2010. New Fargo [...] The river is currently showing 27.52 feet and right about in the middle of Moderate flooding stage. Sometime this evening we will enter into Major flood stage at 30 feet. [...] I was not able to listen to the whole thing, but here is what I gleened from what I heard. [...] |
