The National Weather Service is reporting the Red River is currently at 33.16 feet. The crest is still at 38 feet and expected to be here on Sunday. The mood is optimistic and now we have to wait and watch.
One thing I did want to note is that the river will slowly fall and will be in the Major Flood Stage for the foreseeable future. Although the mood is optimistic, I hope that it is not one of complacency. I wonder how a strong rain would effect river levels if they came in on Thursday or Friday of next week. Plan for the worst, hope for the best.
