The Red River is going down in Fargo! Barring any heavy rain or unexpected circumstances, we are way OUT of the Flood of 2010. We are still in Major flood stage, so there are still dangers out there, but this is a great indicator!

It looks like the NWS has slightly changed its flood prediction for the Fargo flood crest to fall on Sunday rather than Saturday. Hopefully, this should provide a bit more time to get all of the necessary dikes in place to protect against the Red River Valley flood of 2010. New Fargo [...] The river is currently showing 27.52 feet and right about in the middle of Moderate flooding stage. Sometime this evening we will enter into Major flood stage at 30 feet. [...] Steps are being taken in the FM community that indicates that we are well on our way to entering the Fargo Flood 2010 season. [...] we should keep some hope in mind. Possibly, the new NWS forecast will have some positive news this Friday! [...] |
